PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Project Cost: $12,300,000
Project Size: 64,580 SF

The new laboratory addition is used for research, development and testing of new communication devices and radar systems. The addition houses classified computer labs, conference rooms, and a Combat Command Center with support spaces. Many spaces were design as sensitive compartmented information facilities (SCIF) that provide physical, acoustical, and electronic protection. Special attention is paid to the design of walls, doors, door hardware and door access control to comply with SCIF requirements while simultaneously providing maximum flexibility required within a laboratory environment. Infrastructure requirements included a 400-Hertz power generation system for supporting aircraft systems testing; roof mounted satellite dishes for communications and an electronic grounding system to protect supercomputing equipment.
